Welcome to Kelsology.com. This website was created with the idea that there are distance family members and friends that are seeking more knowledge about myself or the Kelso family.
I created the name "Kelsology" for just that reason, the study of Kelso. Or, as I term it study/science of being a Kelso. Here at this site you will find genealogy information, personal information, my resume; pictures from various activities, links to other sites, etc.
On
the family crest to the left you will notice the latin phrase:
otium cum dignitate; or Ease with dignity.
On a side note, The City of Kelso, Scotland's motto is: "Do
Right, Fear None".
To further discuss the family crest you will notice (3)sheaves
of Wheat. The sheaf represents "The harvest of one's hopes
has been secured". It could be concludedthat this occurred
three times.
Since the shield had Invected/Engrailed Line it would
indicate
that what had been secured was land. In the center you
will see the shield or crest contains furs which suggests a
mark of dignity. Usually the fur coat of the weasel is represented.
The thing that is most striking to me about the crest or shield
is the primary color of black. Black is usually indicative
of great sorrow.
